Prompting Tips

Master the art of prompting to get consistently excellent results from Corint.

A well-structured prompt includes:

  1. Context: Background information
  2. Task: What you want done
  3. Format: How you want the output
  4. Constraints: Any limitations or requirements
[Context]
I'm preparing for a board meeting next week. We had strong Q3
performance with 23% revenue growth.
[Task]
Create talking points for my presentation on Q3 results.
[Format]
Use bullet points, grouped by topic. Each point should be
one sentence.
[Constraints]
Focus on positives but acknowledge the supply chain challenges
we faced in September.
❌ Vague✅ Specific
”Write about our product""Write a 300-word product description for our CRM software, targeting small business owners who are switching from spreadsheets"
"Analyze this data""Analyze the attached CSV and identify the top 5 customers by lifetime value, including their purchase frequency and average order size"
"Help with marketing""Create 5 email subject lines for our Black Friday sale, targeting existing customers, with a sense of urgency”

Show Corint what you want:

Write product titles in this style:
Examples:
- "AirPods Pro: Immersive Sound, Effortless Noise Cancellation"
- "MacBook Air: Power Meets Portability"
Now write a title for our new wireless keyboard.

Give Corint a persona:

You are a senior financial analyst with 15 years of experience
in SaaS metrics. Review our Q3 numbers and identify any red
flags or areas of concern.

For complex tasks, ask Corint to think step-by-step:

I need to decide whether to expand into the European market.
Think through this step by step:
1. What are the key factors to consider?
2. What data would we need?
3. What are the potential risks?
4. What would be the first steps if we proceed?

Be explicit about structure:

Create a competitive analysis with the following structure:
| Company | Pricing | Key Features | Weakness |
|---------|---------|--------------|----------|
Include at least 5 competitors.
Create a [document type] about [topic].
Requirements:
- Length: [word count or pages]
- Audience: [target reader]
- Tone: [formal/casual/technical]
- Include: [specific elements]
- Avoid: [things to exclude]
Analyze the attached [data type] and provide:
1. Summary statistics
2. Key trends or patterns
3. Anomalies or outliers
4. Actionable recommendations
Present findings in [format: table/bullets/narrative].
Research [topic] and compile:
- Overview (2-3 paragraphs)
- Key statistics (with sources)
- Recent developments (last 6 months)
- Expert opinions
- Implications for [our context]
Review the following text and improve it for:
- Clarity
- Conciseness
- Grammar
- Flow
Maintain the original meaning and tone.
[paste text]

Start broad, then narrow:

First message: "Create a project plan for website redesign"
Follow-up: "Expand the testing phase to include more detail
about user acceptance testing"
Follow-up: "Add estimated hours for each task"

Request alternatives:

Write 3 different versions of this headline, each with a
different emotional appeal:
1. Urgency
2. Curiosity
3. Social proof
Limit your response to 200 words maximum.
Provide a comprehensive response with detailed explanations
for each point.
Format your response as:
- A bulleted list (not numbered)
- With bold headers for each section
- No paragraphs, only bullet points
If you need any additional information to complete this task,
ask me before proceeding.

Create reusable templates for common tasks:

## Weekly Report Template
Create a weekly status report with:
**Progress**
- [List completed items]
**Blockers**
- [List any obstacles]
**Next Week**
- [List planned items]
**Metrics**
- [Key numbers from the week]
Use data from [source] and keep each section to 3-5 bullet points.
